Experienced Leadership. Community First.
Public service has been at the heart of my life for nearly two decades.
I am a Professional Accountant who immigrated to Canada in 1995 after working in the United Kingdom. Since 1997, I have worked for the Government of British Columbia, gaining extensive experience in governance, accountability, and responsible management of public resources.
For the past 18 years, I have proudly served as an elected School Trustee in Abbotsford, including three years as Vice-Chair of the Board of Education and leadership roles as Chair of the Finance, Education, and Audit Committees.
My wife Rapinder is a local educator. Together, we raised our three children in Abbotsford, all of whom attended Abbotsford public schools and now work in our community. We are also proud grandparents.
I believe leadership starts with listening, building relationships, and putting the community first.
Priorities.
Building Abbotsford’s Future Together
As Abbotsford continues to grow, we must ensure that infrastructure, services, and community amenities keep pace with the needs of residents.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, parks, and public spaces. I support practical investments that enhance public safety, strengthen prevention programs, and support youth engagement.
Our city has grown significantly, but recreational facilities have not always kept pace. Families, youth, seniors, and sports organizations deserve access to modern recreation opportunities and community spaces.
As former Chair of the Finance Committee for the Abbotsford School District, I understand the importance of careful budgeting and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Every dollar should deliver value to residents.
Residents and businesses deserve timely permitting and development approvals. We need processes that are efficient, transparent, and responsive.
Growth must be accompanied by appropriate infrastructure, transportation planning, parks, recreation facilities, and community services.
Community Work.
Experienced Leadership. Community First.
Serving the community extends beyond elected office.
Throughout the years, I have been honored to contribute to many organizations that make Abbotsford stronger, including:
- Abbotsford Board of Education
- Clearbrook Kiwanis Club
- Community of Character Council
- Abbotsford Youth Commission
- AbbyFest Board
- MSA Museum
- The Reach Gallery Museum
- Literacy Matters
- Sister City Committee
- Cycling for Diversity
- Canuck Place Children’s Hospice Campaign
- Character Abbotsford
One of my greatest joys has been working alongside volunteers and community leaders who dedicate their time to improving the lives of others.
